Hemp the Climate Brand Design

Hemp the Climate Brand Design

Hemp the Climate is an NGO based in Czechia whose mission is to accelerate the use of industrial hemp for climate resilience. They work with industry stakeholders and farmers to educate them on the importance growing hemp and using hemp materials.

They wanted their new branding to feel institutional, but also appeal to a hip and modern professional demographic. They did not want any references to cannabis present in their branding as they want hemp to be taken seriously in corporate environments.

Brand Mood board

I started with a mood board to set the tone of the brand. Some keywords that were established during the branding exercises were ambitious, positive, friendly and informative, so those words inspired the look and feel. Including conference badges and billboards help illustrate how a colorful and positive-feeling brand could be used in an institutional way.

Color Palette

I wanted the colors to combine earth tones with bright positive colors. The teal color references the earthiness of the brand without using the green cannabis color. The bright blue and orange brings an uplifting tone to the brand.

Logo Design

The HTC logo contains two parts—an abbreviated version as well as a word mark. The abbreviated version was made so that the shape that props up the letters can be filled with different colors or even images across different marketing campaigns.

Hemp the Climate wanted a few variations to choose from for their branding. Here are a few of my favorite options.
